Terms of Use

These terms govern your use of the FocusMe mobile application for Android (package name uz.focusguardian.app) and its related services (the "app", the "service"). The app is developed and maintained by an independent developer based in Uzbekistan ("we", "our").

By installing or using the app you agree to these terms. If you do not agree with them, do not install or use the app.

1. What the app does

FocusMe helps you restrict your use of apps and parts of websites that you choose. You assign each app one of three states yourself: no restrictions, a daily time limit, or a full block. The app shows a blocking screen when you open a restricted app or run out of your limit, and it makes overriding that restriction deliberately expensive in time.

This is a self-control tool for an adult applying it to their own device. The app is not intended for parental control, for monitoring other people, or for employee surveillance.

2. Who may use it

The app is intended for people aged 13 or older, or the applicable minimum age in your country. If you are below the age at which you can enter into contracts on your own, you should use the app with the consent of a parent or guardian.

3. Your account

Some features require an account — by email address with a password, or through Google sign-in. You are responsible for keeping your credentials safe and for actions taken under your account. Tell us if you notice unauthorised access.

You agree to provide a valid email address: it is used for account confirmation, password recovery and for regaining access in commitment mode.

4. Tiers and subscription

The free tier never expires and includes:

• up to three restricted apps at a time (limits and blocks combined);
• gentle override mode (a 10-second countdown);
• one focus session per day.

Premium costs $9.99 a year and includes:

• commitment mode with a waiting period, a written reason and biometrics;
• an unlimited number of restricted apps and focus sessions;
• Shorts, Reels and 18+ content blockers in browsers;
• extended statistics, settings export and import.

Payment is handled by Google Play Billing and subscription management by RevenueCat. We do not receive or store your payment card details. The subscription renews automatically once a year unless you cancel it at least 24 hours before the end of the current period. You can manage and cancel your subscription in the Google Play subscriptions section.

The price may change for future periods. We will give you notice of any such change in advance, and it will not affect a period you have already paid for.

5. Refunds

Refunds are processed through Google Play, so the time it takes to appear depends on your bank and payment provider. This guarantee is in addition to, and does not replace, the consumer rights granted by the law of your country or the Google Play refund policy.

6. Cancellation and downgrade

After you cancel, premium features remain available until the end of the period you paid for. The free-tier limits then apply, but your existing settings are not deleted: restrictions created beyond the free limit are preserved in read-only form and become editable again if you resubscribe.

7. Permissions and acceptable use

The app needs special Android permissions to work, including the accessibility service, usage access and drawing over other apps. Exactly how they are used is described in our privacy policy. You can revoke any of them in Android settings — some features will stop working if you do.

You agree not to:

• use the app to restrict or monitor another person's device without their informed consent;
• reverse-engineer, decompile or modify the app, except where the law expressly allows it;
• interfere with our servers, circumvent tier limits or automate access to the API without permission;
• resell or rent out access to the app.

8. What we do not promise

The app is provided "as is". In particular, we do not guarantee that:

• a block will work in every single case — Android reports usage statistics with a delay, and device manufacturers handle background services and power saving differently;
• the Shorts, Reels and 18+ blockers will cover every possible interface variant and every browser: third-party apps change, and a blocker may stop working temporarily until we ship an update;
• the service will run continuously and without errors, or that on-device data will not be lost in a crash, a reset or an uninstall.

The app is not a medical device and is not intended to diagnose or treat addiction or any other condition. If you need help, please consult a professional.

9. Limitation of liability

To the maximum extent permitted by applicable law, we are not liable for indirect, incidental or consequential damages, nor for lost profits, lost data, or the consequences of a restriction working or failing to work at a particular moment. Our total liability under these terms is limited to the amount you paid us over the last 12 months.

Nothing in this section limits liability that cannot be limited by law.

10. Intellectual property

The app, its name, logo, interface and source code belong to us and are protected by law. You receive a personal, non-transferable, non-exclusive and revocable licence to use the app in accordance with these terms. The data you create inside the app remains yours.

11. Termination

You may stop using the app at any time by uninstalling it and requesting account deletion. We may suspend or terminate access if you materially breach these terms or use the service unlawfully. If we terminate access through no fault of yours, we will refund the unused portion of the period you paid for.

12. Changes to these terms

We may update these terms. When we do, the date at the top of the document changes, and we will notify you of material changes in the app or by email before they take effect. Continuing to use the app after that means you accept the updated terms.

13. Governing law

These terms are governed by the law of the Republic of Uzbekistan, without regard to conflict-of-law rules. This does not deprive you of the protection of mandatory rules of the law of your country of habitual residence if you are acting as a consumer.
